According to Recharger Magazine, "Each year, more than 300 million plastic printer cartridges end up dumped in landfills in the United States and around the world." Our goal is to positively affect these numbers and reduce landfill waste through the remanufacturing of imaging supplies and the recycling of office supplies and small electronics.

The research clearly demonstrates that remanufactured ink and toner cartridges are the most ecologically responsible choice. The U.S. Dept. of Energy Office of Industrial Technologies has articulated that "for every cartridge that is remanufactured, over a pound of plastics is withheld from the waste stream." They go on to state that, "Although recycling of toner cartridges does have a number of benefits, remanufacturing is a superior choice, both environmentally and economically." Through the remanufacturing of cartridges, the recycling of small electronics and a goal of zero landfill waste, we are revolutionizing the industry and changing the way companies think about waste.

Premium Replacement Toner Cartridges with Bio-Based Content
Agritone toner-based printer cartridges made with BioBlack® toner help reduce the consumption of petroleum-based fuels and contribute to an eco-friendly office environment. Bio-based products are defined as those composed in whole or large part of renewable agricultural or forestry materials. The term "bioproduct" is short for biomass products, and can be used to describe a chemical, material, or other product derived from renewable biomass resources. Such products, often made from plant, animal and marine substances, now include items such as cleaners, lubricants, building materials, insulation, roof coatings, fuel additives and printer cartridge toner. Recycling Process
A big part of the recycling process begins with toner cartridge remanufacturing. When we take back your empty toner cartridge we inspect all of the materials: drums, toner, blades, PCRs, magnetic rollers, etc. are verified against stringent standards before they are released to the production floor. Next, we sort and grade all of the emtpy cartridges. Only premium empty cartridges are used to ensure optimal quality. All packaging materials, used hoppers and non-conforming components are disassembled and recycled (see below for End-of-Life process).

Empty cartridges are carefully disassembled and cleaned using a proprietary state-of-the-art process. Hoppers are precisely split using custom built automated equipment. Using automated filling equipment that developed in-house, each cartridge is precisely filled to the exact specified weight. Toner hoppers are filled with premium toners, which are technically matched to the OPCs (drum) for optimal yields and printer performance. Each toner hopper is then sealed with an OEM style seal. Our quality sealing process ensures a leak-proof cartridge that is easy for you to install.

Our factory-trained technicians assemble all cartridges with OEM grade compatible components. The assembly process includes the installation of a pre-qualified drum, wiper blade, doctor blade, PCR and magnetic roller. Once the cartridges are fully assembled each and every cartridge is post tested using industry standard print tests to ensure outstanding performance and quality.

All cartridges receive a final inspection to ensure they conform to our stringent quality standards. Cartridges are cleaned, polished, heat-sealed in a static resistant bag and boxed. Each step in our manufacturing process is monitored by dedicated Quality Control experts. Each step in our production process undergoes regular and spot inspections to guarantee that our products meet the expectations of the customers.

End-of-Life Process
As you can imagine, we receive thousands of cartridges per month. Every time a used cartridge comes in they are inspected and designated for remanufacturing or grinding. Following the evaluation process the cartridges deemed unsuitable for remanufacturing are disassembled in base components. All of the components (plastic, blades, gears and PCR drums) are sorted for recycling. Cartridges that are designated for grinding are inducted into the grinder to produce plastic regrind. Plastic regrind is reused in various injection molding processes creating new products utilizing post consumer waste which completes the closed loop process.
